Whole-home backup or essential loads?

Whole-home backup aims to support the main household circuits, but it still depends on the inverter’s power limits, battery capacity, and your actual loads. Essential-load backup isolates priority circuits such as refrigeration, lighting, internet, heating controls, and well pumps where compatible.

Large electric heating loads, air conditioning, motors and well-pump starting surges can change the design significantly. We verify what you need before recommending a battery count.

Battery capacity (kWh)

Capacity describes stored energy. Runtime depends on usable capacity and how much power the home is using; a 14.3 kWh battery does not guarantee any particular number of backup hours.

Inverter power (kW)

The inverter determines how much power can be delivered at once. Motor startup loads, service configuration and multiple inverter coordination matter just as much as battery size.

Solar recharging

Solar can help recharge batteries during outages when the system is specifically designed and configured for that operation. Weather, snow coverage and seasonal daylight affect output.

Generator integration

For remote properties, a compatible generator can be part of a layered backup strategy. Transfer arrangements, neutral bonding, interlocks and generator controls require project-specific design.

Built for Wyoming conditions

Cold temperatures can affect battery charging and operation. We check the manufacturer’s operating limits, battery heating provisions, mounting location, clearances, ventilation and applicable fire and electrical requirements.

Our work includes EG4 hybrid inverter and battery installations, off-grid system planning and coordination of electrical and structural engineering.
